Where is Waves of Hydra produced?

Every piece of clothing from the line is cut and sewn in downtown Montreal, Canada. All of the cutting is done by piece in order to waste as little fabric as possible and for extra accuracy of sizing and fit. The sewing is done by a small, independent team of manufacturers in Montreal’s Chabanel District. Their studio is visited often and there is a relationship of trust and respect between the designer and the sewing team. The sewers work in a clean, well lit and beautiful space.

Where is your fabric sourced from?

All of the fabric for the line is sourced from reputable dealers in Canada or straight from producers in Korea. We prefer to buy from companies that are transparent about the content and origin of each fabric. We try to use only natural, organic or OEKO-TEX certified fibres. Notions such as buttons and zippers are purchased from local dealers in an effort to support small business in Montreal.

What kind of packaging do you use?

We send most packages in recycled poly envelopes and recycled tissue paper.

How many collections do you produce a year?

We generally don’t follow fashion seasons and rely more on “core” items. We reuse and adapt existing patterns instead of constantly churning out endless products. We make clothes with wearability in mind. We want the pieces to be part of a uniform to live life in!
